Couldn't load pickup availability
Custom designed in our Aquaculture Farm by the professionals who are working everyday fragging corals and maintaining healthy reef systems.
We are offering 3 different sized frag plugs:
Small - 3/4in
Large - 1in
XXL 1.25in
Discs in 2in, 2.5in and 3in.
Currently all our frag plugs and disc are printed using all black. If you desire another color, please contact us for availability of any other colors.
We have incorporated a custom made thread on style plug and disc. This allows you to glue the plug into your rock work and unscrew the coral that is attached for cleaning, fragging or manual inspection as needed without disturbing your rock work or needing to pry the frag off the rock work and reglue.
The frag plug stem also incorporates a custom cross design so it can be used on industry standard frag racks with or without locking silicone inserts. The stem can also be placed on industry standard egg crate and lock in with the cross pattern in the stem.
On our Large, XXL plugs and discs, we have also printed a neon green on the underside of the frag plug or disc. The purpose of this is to be able to use a fine tip sharpie marker prior to mounting any corals and label as you see fit. This helps in later identification when you have long forgotten the name when you bought the coral, we've all been there, lol.
These frag plugs are made using 3d print filament Petg. This material has been found to be inert and not leach unknown chemicals into your reefing system. ICP tests have been tested in RO water using multiple different ceramic frag plugs and have been found to leach different chemicals into your reef tank. A common method to absolve this issue is to soak your ceramic frag plugs in RO water for a couple weeks, changing the RO water often to remove any unwanted chemicals from leaching.
Using 3d printed frag plugs, this is no longer an issue. Due to the nature of the frag plugs, it also makes manual removal of unwanted algae growth much easier as well. We have also seen coralline algae on our 3d printed frag plugs in as little as 2 weeks from initial introduction into the system.
